In Loving Memory of Lois Lombard
(1921 – 2025)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Lombard a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully departed this life on January 16, 2025 at the remarkable age of 103.
Born in New Brunswick in 1921, Lois lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and joy. She served as a devoted RNA, at the Brockville General Hospital for over two decades, providing care and comfort to countless individuals in her community. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession, as she was a steadfast source of love and guidance for her family.
Lois also found happiness and camaraderie through her passion for golf, dancing, skiing, skating and bowling. A long-standing member of her local golf club, she cherished afternoons on the course with friends, sharing laughs and celebrating small victories. Equally passionate about bowling, she was a cherished member of her league, known for her lively spirit and competitive edge well into her later years. She was also a member of the Wall Street United Church.
Above all, Lois was a devoted mother and truly the matriarch for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever be treasured by her family. Her wisdom, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed.
She is survived by Allen Johnston (Mary), Barb Dougherty (Garry), John Johnston (Cathy), Terry Johnston (Mercedes), Susan Lombard, and stepson Peter McVetty (Odean), as well as her grandchildren, Todd (Brigitte), Karl (Wendy), Aubrey (Vanessa), Joe (Jennifer), Geraldine (Michael), Sheri Lynn (Chris), Trevor (Alex), Melissa, and William. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 10 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and love. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Lois’s extraordinary life will be held on a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to BDHF – Palliative Care).
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the extraordinary PSW’s and nurses provided by the Brockville Bayshore home and health care team. We would like to thank her special friends, Linda,Hector, Joan and Steve for always being supportive and comforting for Lois.
Rest in peace, dear Lois. Your memory will live on, shining brightly in the hearts of all who loved you.
