Lloyd George Cogswell
– 78, of Arlington, passed away peacefully at home on
Thursday, February 27, 2025. Lloyd was the son of the late George and
Stella (Corkum) Cogswell. Husband of 20 years to Cindy
Adams-Cogswell.
Lloyd worked his early
years in Etobicoke township in Ontario before moving with his first
wife Brenda, and kids back to Nova Scotia. He opened a drywall
company. After that, he was a jack of many trades. If there was
something he couldn’t fix, he « fixed » it
so no one could fix it. He lived life to the fullest, he could fit in
with any group of people from suits to leather and anything
in-between. When he found faith, he embraced it to the fullest. He
loved spreading the word of Jesus. So many people will feel the loss
of the great friend they had in Lloyd.
Lloyd leaves behind
his wife, Cindy Adams-Cogswell; children, Lori (Fred) Phillips, Kenny
Cogswell and Derek (Melissa) Cogswell; step-son, Jamie (Anne) Bishop;
grandchildren, Hayley Cogswell, Justin (Amanda) Cogswell, Jacob (Ally)
Cogswell, Jaydia (Noah) Cogswell and Jewel (Evan) Cogswell;
great-grandchildren, Cayden, Alice, Dante, Oakley, Estella, Elliot,
Emberley, Aaron and twins expected in July; siblings, Virginia
Nicholson, Margie (Jackie) Nicholson, Linda (Cecil) Swinamer, Georgie
Greencorn, Kathy (Ian) Duggan, Karen (Blaine) North, Joey (Sylvia)
Cogswell, David (Lurenda) Arenburg, Donnie (Dianne) Arenburg and
Crystal Cogswell.
He was predeceased by
sisters, Minnie Hamilton, Valerie Pynch and Jeanetta Busk; brother,
Buddy Joudrey; grandchildren, Aaron Cogswell and Jessica Cogswell;
daughter-in-law, Jackie Cogswell; brothers-in-law, Arthur Nicholson
and Bob Busk.
Lloyd was the
president of « BRO » motorcycle club for a time and
was involved in raising money for such organizations as Ride for Sight
and Toy Runs. He was a guest speaker at Relay for Life in Kentville,
speaking of living with cancer. Lloyd loved his Harley and had a
fondness for El Camino’s, which he owned a few, puttering
around the house and the yard and weekly card games. Lloyd was an avid
skydiver, logging over 150 jumps. When he found something he believed
in he gave it his all. Now he’s gone home to his biggest
hero Jesus Christ. A hero he would speak of and to several times
daily. He was a member of Bethany Memorial Church and he loved his
church family and his biker buddies all the same.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service
(with livestream available) will take place on Saturday, March 8 at
2pm in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Reverend Thelma
MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow at the CE Center,
behind Bethany Memorial Church for a time of remembering
Lloyd.
Donations in memory
may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have
been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, Kentville.
« God
wanted an angel and he picked a damn good one. »
