WYSMINITY, Linda
1953 – 2025
Mrs. Linda Joanne Wysminity of Red Deer, Alberta sadly passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the age of 72 years. Linda was born on January 1, 1953 in Bienfait, Saskatchewan, to Marian and Matilda ‘Tillie’ Rogalski. Five years later, her sister, Sheila Marianne was born. Linda attended Bienfait Weldon School until her last year of High School, where she then attended Estevan Comprehensive School. Wanting to help others, Linda then attended Nursing School in Regina at the Grey Nun’s Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1972. This is where Linda met so many of her friends, some of whom she remained in contact with until her passing. Linda was working at the Pasqua Hospital (formally the Grey Nun’s Hospital), when she met Jim. They were married in 1973 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Bienfait. A few years later, in 1976, they moved to Bienfait as Jim was transferred to Estevan and Linda found employment at the Bienfait Hospital. She then went on to work at the Estevan St. Joseph’s Hospital. Jim and Linda expanded their family, having three children, Danielle, Lindsay, and Michael. Linda then worked at the Estevan Regional Nursing Home until she retired in 2009. After retirement, Jim and Linda said goodbye to their many friends and family and moved to Red Deer, Alberta where her sister, Sheila and daughter, Lindsay reside. Linda loved living in Springfield Crossing in Red Deer. She made many friends and kept busy volunteering for The Lending Cupboard, The Hospital Lottery and baking for The Mustard Seed. Linda enjoyed the many ladies she volunteered with in her forty-five years in the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) both in Bienfait and in Red Deer. She was passionate about everything she did from cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders, gardening and shopping, and she loved being a mother, wife and sister. Linda lived life to the fullest and her passion, kindness and generosity will be missed.
