It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Kyle Jeremy Langlois.
Kyle was born at Burnaby General Hospital in Burnaby, BC.
He is survived by his daughter Madelyn, his mother Lynne Belanger, his father Bob, his brother Mike, long time loving mother of his child, April, his uncle, Rick Belanger, his nephews, Rory and Miles, sister-in-law Lexia Nash, extended family, and many friends from his childhood, and new friendships formed throughout his life. He is predeceased by his loving grandmother, Dolores Belanger, and his grandfather, Gilles Belanger.
Everyone was drawn to Kyle’s genuine, passionate presence. His soulful personality, his smile, and his calm nature were felt by everyone. Kyle was loved by all who got to know him. We also can’t forget his wicked sense of humor and quick wit. He was so good at doing funny voices and joking around with his brother Mike! He was hilarious and loved a good laugh!
Kyle had an immense love of music from a young age. This love of music only grew bigger over time. This eventually developed into forming a band with his brother Mike, called Kownterpoint, and their other band S.K.A. He played bass guitar, but his talent also shone through in other instruments that he played. He so enjoyed touring and doing shows with his friends and band mates. Their most memorable shows were at the Victoria SKA Fest in 2023, and more recently, in October 2024, a two week tour around Mexico City.
Kyle also liked to attend Drum Circles at the beaches in Stanley Park. Here, he met people who shared their joy in this activity and again, he formed new friendships. Madelyn also enjoyed joining her father on these excursions, and made beautiful memories together, playing drums and the music they both enjoyed.
Kyle loved sports. He was very passionate about his favorite teams. His favorite local hockey team is the Vancouver Canucks, BC Lions football team, and the Seattle Seahawks. They kept Kyle on the band wagon and a dedicated true fan. Since Kyle was of French-Canadian descent, he also had a place in his heart for the Montreal Canadians and the old Quebec Nordiques. Not to mention, the Toronto Bluejays and the Montreal Expos were teams Kyle loved to follow in baseball. We actually found a baseball card of Kyle from his days with the Victoria Drive Little League in Vancouver. On his card, his scouting report states that he was “Most Sportsmanlike”, “Most Improved”, and “Rookie of the Year”. This will attest to Kyle’s dedication and passion for whatever he did that started at a young age.
Kyle enjoyed cooking and was adventurous in making dishes from different cultures and experimenting with eastern spices. Some of his favorite comfort foods were Mac n cheese, omelets & gourmet hot dogs, which he loved to whip up.
Kyle loved to travel and being a worldly man, he enjoyed different cultures. Kyle very much loved the outdoors, the beauty of nature, and especially the sunshine. Summer was his favorite season. He lived his life to the fullest.
Kyle was loved and appreciated and will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues at AllWest Facility Services Ltd. where he was employed for 15 years.
His family and friends are sadly trying to come to terms with this devastating and sudden loss of Kyle. It is far too soon to lose such a great man. Thank you for being part of our lives and touching so many with your kindred spirit. It will never be lost on our hearts.
As a tribute to Kyle’s love for music, we invite you to make a donation to MusiCounts in his memory
