Kenneth “Gordon” Beesley passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025.
Born on January 23, 1946 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Gordon arrived in Ontario as a teenager when his father’s ministry work brought the family here. A devoted husband and father, Gordon is survived by his loving wife Velma and their daughter Elizabeth (Matt). He is also survived by his son Sean, granddaughter Sheridan, and brother Gary (Jan).
Gordon’s keen sense of humour and warm demeanour brought joy to everyone he met. His remarkable ability to form connections made him a friend to all, no matter where he went. Being in his presence meant feeling his genuine interest, sharing laughter, and instantly gaining a new friend. Gordon’s care for others was especially evident in his volunteer work at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and an organizer of men’s breakfasts, ____and meal preparation for shelters.
A great conversationalist, Gordon was a wealth of knowledge on so many wonderful topics. From World War history and naval ships to baseball and racecars, Gordon had an incredible ability to share his insights with enthusiasm, sparking engaging and memorable conversations.
Most of all, he leaves an indelible impact on his family, to whom he was profoundly devoted. His big heart overflowed with love for his wife and daughter, who will miss him more than words can express.
