Katharina “Tina” Klassen
April 23, 1936- March 12, 2025
Katharina Klassen passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord at the age of 88 on March 12, 2025. She was born on April 23, 1936 in Ukraine. In 1948 she travelled to Paraguay with her family. In 1955 Katharina committed her life to Christ and was baptized on May 30th of that year. In May of 1959, she graduated from nurse’s college and then came to Canada by herself in 1962 when she married her husband, Peter Klassen. Katharina worked on the farms in Niagara on the lake and worked cleaning houses and was a homemaker. She loved to cook and bake as she raised four children. Peter and Katharina were very involved at Scott Street M.B. Church where they were members. Katharina also worked at Tabor Manor as a nurse’s aid in her later years. Katharina loved the Lord very much and loved her family.
Katharina was predeceased by her husband, Peter in 2019.
She is survived by her four children. Arthur (Laurie) and their children Sydney, Rose, Philip, Michael and Steven. Marvin (Robin) and Marvin’s children Daniel, Derek and Cassandra. Eleanore (Lee) and their children Sara, Andrew and Sean. Elisabeth (Norman) and their children Tyler and Alexander. Katharina is also survived by four great grandchildren, five siblings and dozens of nephews, nieces and cousins scattered all over the globe.
Katharina will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 17th, 2025 from 6-8pm at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King St.) Funeral service will be in the Chapel on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 at 10am. Private family interment at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery immediately following.
