Martin, June Emily – Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the age of 94.
Reunited with her beloved husband Tom Martin (2012). Loving mother of Stephen (Freda) Martin, Christopher (Dawn) Martin, Gillian (Randy) Priddle, Shelagh (Mark) Owen, and Jennifer (Ron) Jury. Cherished grandmother of several grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. Predeceased by her mother Sophia Clark and sister Trudy. Fondly remembered by many extended family and friends.
June was a woman of many talents, most notably her passion for music. She was an avid pianist, she dedicated a large portion of her life to the Rotary Music Festival, accompanying countless young musicians and sharing her love for music with her community.
Known for her warm heart and generous spirit, June was a giver in every sense of the word. Whether it was through her music or the time she dedicated to those around her, she always put others before herself. A familiar face wherever she went, June had an ability to make everyone feel special, and it wasn’t uncommon for people to recognize her as soon as they saw her.
Her love for family was boundless, and she cherished every holiday, gathering, and special occasion spent with those she held dear. Time with family was everything to June, and she made sure to create lasting memories with them, especially during the holidays, which held a special place in her heart.
June was also known for her active lifestyle, walking everywhere she went, embracing the simple joys of life, and always with a smile. She was truly one of a kind—compassionate, vibrant, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, music, and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Relatives and friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, between 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Food and refreshments will be provided. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery in the spring.
