June Allison Reid Obituary
REID, June Allison (nee MacLeod)
June 5, 1953 – February 18, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of June Allison Reid, born June 5, 1953, in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. June passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and compassion. June was a beloved wife to Ron Reid for nearly 47 years, a devoted mother to Adam and Bryan, and a cherished mother-in-law to Ester and Brandi. Above all, she was the most amazing grandmother to Keaton, Wes, Charlie, and Lily, whose lives she touched with unconditional love and warmth. She is predeceased by her parents Don and Mary Isabel MacLeod and is the loving sister of Donnie (Shirley), the late Bruce (Carol), Diane Fisher (Jim), Wayne, Lorne, Brian and Myrna Hillier. She will be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. June’s heart was as big as her spirit, and she dedicated much of her life to helping others. For many years, she was a dedicated primary school teacher, impacting countless lives in the classroom. Her passion for teaching went beyond the classroom walls. June played a pivotal role in advocating for inner-city children, spearheading one of the first school breakfast programs in Brantford with the support of Fairview United Church. Her efforts continued throughout her life, supporting local schools with winter clothing drives and Christmas lunches for children and families in need. Beyond her work in education, June was a pillar of her community, contributing her time and energy to various local organizations. She served on the Outreach Committee at Fairview Community Centre, the Ministry and Personnel Committee at Fairview United Church, and worked tirelessly with the Keep in Touch ministry, supporting seniors in the community. Her unwavering commitment to kindness and service was a shining example to all who knew her. She was the definition of selflessness. In a world often filled with negativity, she showed us all what it means to be truly compassionate. Her kindness, love, and sense of duty to others will live on in the many lives she touched. To know her was to love her. June leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family will receive friends at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road N. Brantford on Friday February 28, 2025 from 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 11 am.
