Passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2025 at the age of 83. Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Emma Lucas (nee Quinty) of Shirley, Massachusetts and his siblings Robert A. Lucas, Frank “Buddy” Lucas, ,Jayne L. Quackenbush, Mary E. Lucas and Ann L. Diltz. Remembered by his “best buddy” Joan Gatfield, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends and neighbours. After serving in the United States Marine Corps from1962 until 1964, Joseph attended Assumption University in Windsor where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Shortly after graduating he as asked to join the newly recognized St Clair College faculty as a professor teaching psychology and English for many years. He coached long distance running in track and field for the college. You could often find him on the basketball court in a pickup game. He was a member of the RCLB Branch #241, #338, the Canadian Transportation Museum as well as a long time member at Woodland Hills Golf Club in South Woodslee. In his retirement he was an eclectic collector. Some of his collection included antiques and collectables, paintings, arrowheads and other artifacts. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at Christ Church Colchester, 190 Bagot St. Colchester ON, Saturday March 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Windsor Es Humane Society or Wings Rehabilitation Centre.
