It is with broken hearts that the family of the late John Saunders of Marystown announces his passing. John passed away at Pleasant View Towers in St. John’s on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the age of 88.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Jeanette of 57 years; son, Gary Saunders of Marystown; daughters, Sandra House (Nicholas) of Grand Bank, Susanne Saunders (Richard Rafuse) of Chester, NS and Tina Moulton (Barry) of Burin; 5 grandchildren, Dennis Sheppard (Stephanie Kelly), Nikita Hillier (Jamie), Nicole House, Danielle Savoury (Cameron) and Jack Saunders; 3 great-grandchildren, Naomi, Kasen, Khye and Amelia; sister, Harriet Coombs of Grand Bank; brother, Chesley Saunders (Lillian) of Grand Bank; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
John was predeceased by his parents. Frances & George Saunders; brother-in-law, Fred Coombs Sr; and grandson-in-law, Scott Dicks.
The Saunders Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on:

10am – 12noon
2pm – 4pm
7pm – 9pm
Thursday, January 30th
10am – 12noon
2pm – 4pm
7pm – 9pm
A funeral service will take place at Calvary United Church, Creston South on:
Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2pm.
Interment to follow at Calvary United Church Cemetery, Creston South.
In John’s memory, in-lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Saunders Family to be donated to local charities of their choice.
