Remembering John
John James Chambers – 93, Lake Rd., Tatamagouche, passed away peacefully, February 3, 2025 in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche. Born in Brule, he was a son of the late Luther Gunn Chambers and Rena (Langille). John served with the RCAF for 10 years, stationed first at Greenwood then later on in Ontario. In later years, John worked as a mechanic as well as a school bus driver in the Tatamagouche area. He enjoyed spending his free time reading a good book or outside tinkering on his tractor. He loved camping on the family shore lot in Sandpoint.
John is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Evelyn (Murray); daughter, Carla Lynds (Jack) and son in law Wally; His grandchildren Charles (Rachel), Deanna, Jonathan, Crystal, Jennifer (Ronnie),Chrisy, Tony (Alicia), Robin (Ashley), Shawn (Lena), Amanda (Tim), Chelsy, Nathan (Melanie), Taylor (Brooke) Josie (Coty) and Nick (Hannah), and 31 Great grandchildren; sister, Marina Long (Gary), New Brunswick; many nieces and nephews; John was predeceased by three of his children Benjamin, Heather (Wally) and James (Ange); son in law, Jack.
John cherished his family and he will be deeply missed.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home in Tatamagouche. Interment will be held at a later date in the Lake Road Cemetery. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Lake Road Cemetery.
