John Charles “Charl” Gosse 2nd, October 26, 1933 (Corner Brook, NL) to January 9, 2025 (Central Health Long Term Care, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL) was known by his family and friends as an industrious and independent machinist (42 years at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Mill) and homeowner, proficient hunter, and proud and dependable son, brother, husband, father, and uncle. Throughout his life he mastered carpentry and gardening and fully enjoyed places important to him including Robinson’s and Sandy Lake. He is survived by his sisters Louise (Chaulk) and Jean (Sceviour) and sister-in-laws Eileen Gosse (Renouf) and Rose Gosse (Jeans). He is predeceased by his wife Sylvia Severn (Renouf, 2021), parents Beatrice “Beat” (Jones) and John “Jack” Charles Gosse 1st, brothers Herbert, Azariah, and Edwin and sister Emma (Rose). This summer, despite the influence of dementia, he amused his daughter Susan (Les Brushett), grandsons Jarrod and Josh (Robyn) and great-granddaughter Kerry, and son John Charles Gosse 3rd (Annette), grandchildren Eryn, Megan (Ryan Dobbin), and John “Jack” Charles Gosse 4th, and granddaughter Margaret (Dobbin) and other relatives and friends. He requested no ceremony and that his ashes be returned to Earth at Grand Lake where he can continue to stand his ground.
