It is with great sadness we announce the
passing of John Alexander « Sandy » Livingston
Sr., age 76, of Springhill. Sandy passed away on
Sunday, January 19th, 2025 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late
Alexander Duncan and Hazel Parl (Williams)
Livingston.
Sandy enjoyed many years in his service
with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Military Police officer, and later
joining the public service as a correctional officer at the Springhill
Penitentiary.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing
hockey, and has always enjoyed playing golf and being a member of the
Springhill Centennial golf club.
There was no denying his
great’s passion was racing; which he passed on to his son,
and continued the tradition to his grandson. Spending time with them
at the race track and in the garage was what he truly enjoyed in
life.
He will be dearly missed by his son,
Alexander D. « Sandy » Jr. (Ashley); grandson, Chase
Livingston;
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by a brother, Carson and his granddaughter, Kyrsten
Livingston.
Arrangements are under the care and
direction of the A. H. Brown Funeral
Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902 597
2361). A Graveside Committal Service will be held in the
North Street Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Sandy may be made to the Kidney Foundation or IWK.
