Joanne Elizabeth Peterson (nee: Patterson)
March 10, 1961 – May 1, 2025
It is with a VERY broken heart that I announce the passing of just short of 20 years of being the love of my life, Joanne at the Brantford General Hospital. At the young age of only 64. She was predeceased by her loving parents John (1989) and Anna (2017) Patterson of Brantford. Joanne is survived and will be forever remembered by the love of her life Les G. Green, her niece Holly, great nephew Arlo, nephew Devon and loving brother Rod and wife Kathy, and sisters Vicki and Chris.
Although Joanne’s journey was short, she was God-gifted and very passionate in her life, in using her 45 years of experience in having an in-depth, highly successful working knowledge of all the healing aspects of Holistic and Naturopathic ways. That she had skillfully helped numerous family, friends, and clients regain and retain their health with. Joanne was also a Merit Certified Reflexologist (healing thru the feet) from the International Institute of Reflexology, St. Petersburg, FL. Of which, she had helped an equal amount of people overcome many health issues. Jo also attended McMaster University, Mohawk College and was an undergraduate of York University. She loved to cook Italian dishes, baking, reading, researching, writing poems and about dream interpretations. Both of which, she had intended on putting in book form. She was highly intuitive. Jo thoroughly enjoyed painting nature scenes on glassware and especially loved our long drives in the Fall and Spring time to see the colours! She loved listening to Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, classic rock, bluegrass, country (especially Dwight Yoakam!), 80’s music, CKRZ 100.3 fm radio (for its unique diversity), also CJIQ 88.3 fm Alternative radio. And when I had dogs (she absolutely loved and adored Boss, Star and Luke)! Joanne was a girl after my own heart! She was special. As everyday, I always said to her, “I love you Baba!” She’d say, “I love you too Dino!” She always knew she could lean on me to help and protect her. The above picture is from September 2005, a month after we reconnected our friendship again.
And finally, Joanne was an honest, unselfish, compassionate, kind, gentle, industrious (made every day count), unpretentious, accommodating, soft-spoken, loving spirit. Of whom, many will miss who had gotten to know her, as I have since 1977 BCI High School, and I will miss her very dearly. As, not only was Jo the love of my life, she was truly the very best person and friend I’ve ever known. I will always love you (Baba!). God speed into the loving arms of our Father in Heaven. Amen. We will hold hands again. In Jesus name.
Special Thanks to the I.C.U. Doctor and nurse teams at B.G.H. for your delicate care and attention for my Jo. Also, very Special Thanks to my best cousin and friend Donna and the prayer group, one of my nieces Monica for her wonderful support, also nieces Stacey and Roxii, and nephews Bill, Clayton, (predeceased 2023) by nephew Chris (he always called her Auntie JoJo!) and my brothers, Wayne and Eddie (Sonny) deceased 2006, 2019. Had loved Jo dearly too, and my kid sister Deana and husband Marty. My mom’s sister, Aunt Doris (deceased 2018) and Jo truly loved each other!
And Big Special Thanks to All of our great friends for their support, prayers, and friendships. My sincere apologies to those I may have forgotten; Glennie and Lois Porter (for his great jokes and always teasing her!), Barb Miller, Marshall and Linda Cayuga, Tom and Irma Martin (deceased 2019, 2017), Kevin Porter, Bob (Bobby) Martin, Sam General, Les Lickers and mom Karen, Chris Wiley and Cheryl Kernaghan, Howard Martin (loved his humour and laugh!), Arnold and Isabel Jacobs (Isabel deceased 2014), Marion Henry (deceased 2016), Stan Martin and Mary Smith, Tom Silver, Steve and Karen Porter, (Big Jim) Jacobs BBQ Ribs and the great staff at Village Pizza (where we often ate dinner pre-pandemic.) I Thank and God bless you All, for your unwavering dedicated prayers and friendship towards my girl. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Nia:we!
And lastly, Much appreciated Thanks to Bill Lofthouse and great staff, with arrangements and cremation for Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken. No service has or will take place. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.rhbandersonfuneralhomes.com
