Jessie passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 15th after a brief illness days following her 91st birthday. Jessie was a loving wife and mother, predeceased by her husband Frank and son Lorne way too soon. She is survived by her daughter Lynn, grandsons Paul (Suzette), Mark (Laura) and Cory (Natalie), as well as five great-grandchildren.
Jessie/Mom/Nana/Nana the Great was known for her quick wit, bright smile, no nonsense attitude and ability to talk about anything to anyone. Her incredible resilience was an inspiration to many.
She excelled in athletics and became an avid skier, tennis/squash/pickleball player and golfer (making it out to play regularly after her 90th birthday). She forged many wonderful lifelong friendships through her activities, lifting people up with her zest for life.
She was a hard worker, in part looking after elderly relatives and volunteering at various organizations -especially important to her was the Philpott Children’s Tennis Association.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
