Our family is sad to announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Janice Ruth Pelletier on Monday, January 20, 2025.
Predeceased by her parents, William and Edna Pelletier; her children, Daniel Kahnapace and Marsha Kahnapace; and siblings, Derrick Sangwais, Deborah Pelletier and Janet Henry. Janice is survived by her son, Richard Kahnapace; daughters, Amanda Kahnapace, Tonia Kahnapace, Crystal Pelletier, Jessia Pelletier and Ginger Sangwais; siblings, Lois Pelletier, Dwight Pelletier and Pauline Pelletier; special aunt, Louise Pelletier; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Our Beautiful Mother…
She was a loving, hardworking, caring, and an adventurous woman.
Our mother was beautiful and strong. She had a sense of humour and could also be firm in her ways. She was a sister and like a mother to many.
Our mother had many friends, she liked to go to pow-wows. Her favourite dance category was men’s traditional.
She liked to travel, and she was kind of a ‘Gypsy’ she liked to say.
Our mother enjoyed working with her family. She enjoyed being with her sisters and brothers. Many who were her cousins as well.
Our beautiful mother had plans that were put aside due to her battle with cancer. She fought a long battle. She was here a little longer, on strength and borrowed time.
We pray for her, for a safe and peaceful journey in her departure. She will always be in our memory and in our hearts. She will never be forgotten, and we will love her forever. Our beautiful mother, may she rest in peace…
Wake will be held at Pasqua First Nation Band Hall on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at Pasqua First Nation on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Interment to follow in the Pasqua First Nation Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jordan Laframboise, Montana Laframboise, Dwight Laframboise, Tyler Ponace, Joe Kahnapace, Dustin Kahnapace and Kashtin Crowe.
