Jane (Jean) Haney Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of 88-year-old Jane (Jean) Jessie Haney.
She passed away peacefully in the Edson Healthcare Centre on the evening of March 3, 2025.
Jean was born in Dinant, Alberta on May 15, 1936 to Jean & Melville Cornelius. She was raised around the Camrose area eventually settling in Edson in her adolescent years.
She met her first husband, George Maggs in Edson ultimately marrying him in 1956. Together they had four children: Doug, Audrey, Darrell, and Sheila. The couple eventually parted ways after many years.
Jean was remarried in the summer of 2004 to Larry Haney. Following Larry’s death she moved into Heritage Court and then The Parkland Lodge.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Larry Haney; parents, Jean & Melville Cornelius; siblings, Margie Stevens & Robert Cornelius; and son Douglas Maggs.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her children: daughter Audrey Maggs of Edmonton; son Darrell (Sue) Maggs of Calgary; and daughter Sheila (Rick) Gagne of Rosalind; as well as, grandchildren Stacy, Michael, Taryn, Riley, Jesse, Kara, and their families.
She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at the Edson Mennonite Church at 1:00 PM on Wednesday March 19, 2025.
