Obituary of Irene Jaqueline MacKenzie
Irene Jaqueline “Dolly” MacKenzie (nee Walker)
A 65-year active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 31, Toronto Ladies Auxiliary who proudly dedicated her time volunteering and running the kitchen for various events hosted by Branch 31 in Toronto. (62 years) Royal Canadian Legion, Ladies Auxiliary Branch 445, Callander, (3 years) passed away peacefully at North Bay Hospital on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, with her daughter Jackie by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Irene Walker, and by her siblings James Lawrence Walker “Skippy” and Florence Beatric.e
Dolly was the beloved wife of the late Frank MacKenzie Jr. (February 14, 2015). She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Jackie (Gary), Lee (Mike), and Jalon. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Dakota and Jayde. Dolly deeply loved animals, especially her beloved dogs, Duster and Dancer, who passed before her. We find comfort in knowing they are now reunited, running free together once more.
She will be missed by her longtime friends and family made throughout the years and her new friends she came to know in Powassan, Ontario.
A small family cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will occur at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 31, Toronto. The details will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the All-Heart Pet Rescue, Powassan, Ontario and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 31, Toronto.
Goodnight Mom, sleep well. You did everything on your terms, just as you said you would and went off as the firecracker you were. Rest peacefully you’ve earned it.
