Glenn Scott Buchanan
1956-2025
Glenn Scott Buchanan, 68, of Queensland, passed away on April 26,
2025, at home with his family.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather leaves a
legacy of faith, love, and unwavering devotion to his family and
Saviour Jesus Christ.
Born on June 14, 1956, to parents William Buchanan and Norien Boudreau
(Minnick) in Halifax.
He had a long, rewarding career as a Carpenter and Supervisor for the
Department of National Defence, and was enjoying retirement with
numerous work projects, fishing and time with family. He loved
building and making things with his hands. He loved to sing. Glenn
loved to play games, and even more so, he loved to win. Most of all
Glenn loved Christ. A man of incredible faith, Glenn’s love for
Jesus shaped every aspect of his life. His passion for the Word of God
was evident in his daily walk, and his voice – strong and full of
conviction – was often lifted in praise as he sang tenor with joy and
reverence. Family was his greatest treasure, whether sharing laughter
or deep conversation, or attending the many sports and musical events
of children and grandchildren, Glenn made every moment count. His
presence filled every room, a big personality whose warmth and energy
left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Glenn is survived by loving wife, Peggy (Hamilton); children, Jennifer
Buchanan, Beth Buchanan, Heather Buchanan (Chelsa), Tanya Talbot, Ryan
Talbot (Janel), Monique Reade (Will), James Arseneau (Geri);
grandchildren, Taylor Buchanan (Josh), Madison Buchanan (Alex), Bailey
Buchanan (Justyn), Dahlia Buchanan, Chloe Reade, Rachel Reade, Avary
Talbot, Jackson Talbot, Maya Buchanan, Cora Buchanan, Isla Ryan,
Seamus Ryan; great-grandchild, Ivy Rose; siblings, Valerie and Jeff
Buchanan and mother, Norien Boudreau.
Glenn was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet (Richardson),
with whom he shared many loving years of marriage until her passing.
He is also predeceased by his father, William Buchanan and his
siblings, Bob and Stephen Buchanan.
Celebration of Life services will be held May 17th at Calvary
Crossroads Church in Mahone Bay, visitation 1:00pm followed by a
service at 2:00pm with reception to follow. Rev Rod Bezanson will be
officiating.
Memorials or donations may be made to The Helm Center:12331
Peggy’s Cove Rd, Glen Haven NS. B3Z 2R7
Though he has left this earthly life, Glenn’s faith, love, and
joy continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be
deeply missed but never forgotten.
May he rest in eternal peace, and power embraced by the love of the
Lord.
