Obituary of Georgina Woolfrey
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Georgina Woolfrey, who passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 98. Born in Newfoundland, lived in Nova Scotia, Prince-Edward Island and Ontario and later in life to the Maplewood Residence. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Reverend Leonard Woolfrey, and a devoted mother to her son Frederick. Georgina Woolfrey lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for knitting and also had a green thumb as she loved tending to her plants and flowers, which were always in full bloom. She enjoyed Jig Saw puzzles and coloring in her free time and most importantly her afternoon cup of tea. Georgina Woolfrey was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her contagious laugh and warm personality. She is survived by her son, Frederick (Claire) and many nephews and nieces who will miss her dearly, in particular Edith, John and Elizabeth who were in constant contact with her all her long life and always referred to her as aunt Dot.
A private funeral service will be held for immediate family members at a later time (Spring). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
