On Saturday, April 12, 2025, George Leonard Wood passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife Carol and his children Bob (Pauline), Jim ‘Sam’ (the late Dianne), Patricia (Mark) Whitfield and Nancy (Art) Putzer. Proud grandfather of Darren, Kim, Jason, Ken, Rob, Shawna, Josh, Melissa, Darryl, Phill, Tyler and his 18 great grandchildren. George was the last surviving child of the late Clayton and Emily Wood and will be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.
Many will recall George as the owner and operator of George Wood Guns and Marine in London, as well as from his time as a member of the Nilestown Masonic Lodge, Mocha Temple Shriners, and a lifetime member of both the St. Thomas Gun Club and the Crumlin Sportsmen Association. His family would like to say a special thank you to his neighbours Stacy and Woody Johnston and to David and Owen Anthony for all the assistance they have given over the years. It is acknowledged and appreciated.
