It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Fred Harrison in his 70th year. After a lengthy battle with cancer, Fred passed peacefully at his home, in his sleep.
Beloved father of Shannon Harrison (Sandy Ferguson) and Luke (Drea) Harrison. Much loved grandfather of Evan & Alex Wright, Hugh, Isabelle, and Daniel Ferguson, River and Elijah Harrison. Treasured brother of Kathy Hannen and Karen Harrison (Chris Quast). Brother-in-law of Brian Inkster and brother of heart to Mike Gilliam. Fred will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and his hunting family. Remembered with love by the Ferrier Family. Predeceased by his parents; Jones and Bernice Harrison and his sisters; Patricia (Carl) Kopriva, Joan (Gord) Mainprize, Shirley Inkster, and nephew Jim Mainprize.
Fred was born to Jones and Bernice in 1955 and spent his childhood in Priceville where he attended a one room schoolhouse before finishing his education in Flesherton. Fred was a true outdoorsmen at heart. Hunting and fishing from before he could walk, as he would say!! He enjoyed playing baseball and hockey with the Priceville and other area teams. He was known as ‘ the Priceville Cart Wheeler’ on the ice.He was a carpenter by trade and handyman by choice. He came to life when he was outdoors, hunting and fishing, gardening and caring for his various critters and birds.
Fred loved to dance and was always the life of the party. His unique sayings, feisty character and heart of gold, will be remembered by all who knew him. Fred always offered a helping hand to anyone, welcoming others into his home with his open door policy and being a safe spot for anyone who needed it. He was the rock and strength of the family and his grandchildren were the light of his world and would melt his heart!! His family routes ran deep and he was true to keeping family ties strong. He will be greatly missed and live on in our treasured memories forever!!
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Dundalk Legion on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, from 1 to 4pm.. All will be welcome to join family and share memories at that time.
