Evelyn Foster, North Battleford, Saskatchewan, beloved mother passed away at Battlefords Union Hospital, Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the age of 96 years.
Born in North Battleford in 1928, she was the first Canadian born in a family that had recently immigrated to Canada from England. Her mother and father, 3 brothers and 2 sisters travelled across the Atlantic and settled into farming just northeast of North Battleford in 1927. She attended King Street School and in 1948 she married the love of her life Edwin (Ted) Foster.
Their family started shortly after and they were blessed with 5 sons and 5 daughters. Their love was a shining example to their children who have all strived to live a life of love and compassion for all. Blessed with 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren she never forgot a birthday or anniversary and sent a card for each occasion. Her whole life was dedicated to her family, friends and her church family. She was so thankful she was able to live in the family home purchased in 1950 until the last 5 weeks of her life.
Evelyn is survived by: Sylvia (Andrew) Ewach – Manning Alberta – children Aric (Krys)- Ryann,Cira-; Victoria (Ramzi); Fred (Jamie) Foster – Calgary, Alberta – children Pam (Paul); Kent (Marija) – Elliott, Josephine; Tom (Jocelyn) Foster – Pierrefonds, Quebec – children Christopher (Isabelle) – Ashley, Jonathan; Timothy (Rachel) – Tristan, Liam; Shirley (Raymond) Smith – Edmonton, Alberta – children Kristin (Raymond) – Adabelle; Carol (Frank) Joudrey – Berwick, Nova Scotia; Betty (Ken) Speed- Day’s Beach, Saskatchewan – children Kyle (Tanya) – Nolan; Daughter-in-law Myrna Foster – Oshawa, Ontario- children Lara (Shane)- Chloe, Rowan, Axel ; Jessica(Lyndon)- Elisenda, Zuri ; Joshua (Alexandra); Barbara (Bill) Sinclair – Beaumont, Alberta – children Sean (Julie), Chloée, Céleste ; Michael; Ron (Michele) Foster – Lloydminster, Alberta – children Aaron (Crystal) – Aiden, Alivia, Avery; Tyler (Ashlee) Khessler, Kinlee; Brody ( Jocelyn) – Nash, Beck, Remy; Deion (Kaitlyn) – Berkley; Larissa (Ryan) – Clyde; Brother Jim Reed, numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Edwin (Ted) (1994), son Edwin (1970), son Robert (2000). Granddaughter Courtney (1989) her parents Thomas and Mary Reed, sisters Queenie Budd; Grace Iverson; Brothers George, Harold and John Reed and all her Sister-in-laws and brother-in laws.
Funeral service will be held, Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11am at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 1302-99th St. North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
