Elizabeth Géber Obituary
In sorrow and with faith in an everlasting life, the family of Elizabeth Géber announce her passing on March 6, 2025, at the wonderful age of 101 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Ferenc (Leona) Géber; and daughters, Magdi Medic and Adela (George) Vorisek of Kelowna, Liz Tabur of Houston, TX, and Anna (Tony) Horvat of Gartringen, Germany. Also by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband András and daughter Veronika.
Elizabeth (Nagy) Géber was born in the former Yugoslavia on April 22, 1923, during tumultuous times of war and hardship. She survived with a young family by being strong-willed, fearless, and devoted to the power of prayer. She lived a simple, modest life within the confines of a communist country until able to immigrate to Canada with András and two young children in 1970. Here they began a successful new life, farming, orchard work, and cleaning offices until retirement age.
A long-time Westbank and Kelowna resident, Elizabeth dedicated her life to her Catholic faith community, family, the Hungarian House and friends. Like many of her generation, she took great pride in her housekeeping, cooking, baking, and needlework skills. She was exceptional in each of these areas. We truly miss and can never replicate her delicious meals, her laughter and many stories.

Please join us for a Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2547 Hebert Road, West Kelowna, on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Westbank Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Hungarian Society Club, 1670 Ross Road, West Kelowna.
