It’s with great sadness and much love we mourn the passing of Elda Schembri (nee Ruffa), at the age of 65 on Thursday January 9th, 2025. Beloved wife of Jospeh Schembri, cherished mother of Pasquale Schembri (Irina), Maria Evans (Dal) and Alessandra Schembri (Caleb). Proudest, devoted and caring Nonna of 4 grandchildren. Elda will forever be remembered for her enormous heart and generosity by many family and friends both here in Canada, USA and Italy.
Elda was born on June 28th, 1959 in Toronto, Canada. Beloved daughter of the late Gregorio and Anna Ruffa. Beloved sister of Anna Roberts (Peter), Gregory Ruffa (Giselle), Mike Ruffa (Lora) and the late Pasqualina.
“Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” Proverbs 31: 25-28

It is with sadness that we heard of Elda’s death. She was a kind and generous neighbour.
We remember her caring attention to Angelo when he was hospitalized in Richmond Hill.
