Edward Mason « Ed » Aim
1943-2025
It is with heavy
hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Mason Aim, who passed
away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 82. Ed Aim was
born January 30, 1943, in White Plains, New York.
Ed (as he was more
commonly known to friends and family) was predeceased by his parents,
Edward and Doris. He is survived by his brother, Robert, and his
children, Christopher and Kathryn (Joe).
Following his
retirement from a long and distinguished career at the Ontario Board
of Education, Ed relocated back to Nova Scotia where he went to Acadia
University, also his parents’ alma mater and where they
first met. He made the move with his younger brother, Robert. Ed was
Robert’s guardian and primary care giver since the passing
of their parents. There was nothing that Ed would not have done and
did not do for his brother over the last few decades to ensure he had
a full, safe and enjoyable life. We admire Ed’s unwavering
commitment to his family; Robert was very lucky to have Ed in his
corner.
Ed was an extremely
dedicated supporter of his children’s athletics, especially
hockey. Ed was a constant presence at the rinks for every
game/practice. This passion and dedication to the game continued for
years after Christopher had finished playing, as Ed continued to
volunteer and give back to the community.
The son of two
musically inclined parents, who played the violin and piano, it was no
surprise when Ed was drawn to music at a young age. He took
up a passion for the trombone and was a dynamic and talented musician
with an unmatted passion for his hobby. Ed always had a song in his
heart, and he will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his
life will be held on June 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville. Family and friends are invited to gather and
share memories. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
