DYCK, David
June 17, 1943 — January 26, 2025
It is with a deep love and profound sadness that we announce the loss of David Dyck, who peacefully went to be with the Lord, while surrounded by family on January 26, 2025, at the age of 81.
Left to hold him dear to their hearts are those he loved most, including his dear wife, Linda Dyck; children Ben (Jeanette) Dyck, Joanne (Bob) Stutters, John Dyck (Joanne), and Bonnie (Jim) Clarke; grandchildren Nolan (Alyssa), Brody (Krista), Cameron (Kari), Kendra (Cody), Trevor (Taylor), Josie (Luke), Julia, Brayden, Brooklyn, Bailey, Emily, Jessica (Max), and Leah; great-grandchildren Daniel, Sadie, David, Rosalea, Watson, and Laser. David will also be missed by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters, as well as extended family and friends.
He now goes to join his parents, Cornelius and Suzanna Dyck; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters, who passed before him.
Born on June 17, 1943, in Manitoba to Cornelius and Suzanna Dyck, David lived a life full of adventure, and love. In 1945, the family made the move to Yarrow, BC, where he grew up and built a lifetime of cherished memories. After high school, David worked in construction, travelling throughout the province. On October 16, 1966 he married Linda Siemens, on her birthday—a marriage that would span 58 beautiful years. Together, they made homes in Aldergrove, Yarrow, Enderby, and Armstrong before settling in Kelowna, where they spent the last 34 years.
David had a love for the great outdoors, spending countless days hunting in the mountains with his brothers, later passing on that passion to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was happiest when surrounded by family, whether surrounded by nature or at home, tending to his garden and greenhouse. Making farmer sausage was another of his favourite pastimes.
After two long weeks in the hospital, David was grateful to return home, where he spent his final four days in the loving care of his devoted wife. Surrounded by family who adored him, they sang his favourite song as he peacefully went to meet his Lord and Saviour. His unfaltering love, faith, and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Memorial Service in David’s honour will be held on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2025, at 1:30 PM, located at WILLOW PARK CHURCH, 439 Hwy 33, Kelowna, BC.
