Doris Ruth Ingraham
1930-2025
It is with great sadness the family of Doris Ruth (Fraser) Ingraham of
Dumfries, NB announces her passing on Tuesday, Jan 28, 2025 at Perth
Hospital. Born in Dumfries, Sept 4, 1930, she was the second
daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Russell) Fraser.
Living all her life on her original family homestead, she spent her
early working days at the Moonlight Restaurant before marrying Myles
on November 12, 1952 with both spending the next 61 years of married
life raising their two sons, as a family engaged in mixed farming, a
woods operation, a Holstein dairy farm, avid Belgian Draft Horse
exhibiter along with Myles for many years at the FREX, as well as
operating the Loyalist House Antiques and a shrub nursery. She had a
life-long passion for flower gardening and decorating in-doors and out
for every season with Christmas top of the list. Favourite
pass-times during the 1970’s and 80’s were many family
picnics, square dances and local card parties.
She provided many varied and delightful meals for family, friends and
employees alike over the years, whether at the dining room table or
picnic lunches in the hay field with homemade brown bread rolls,
beans, delicious potato salad with her special home-made dressing, a
wide variety of pies (mince included) and delicious cakes. Home-made
preserves were plentiful with dill carrots a favourite. With many
dedicated years to St. Clement’s Anglican Church, and recognized
as an ACW life member, she could be found participating as a choir
member and enjoying cooking for the many Church functions (breakfasts,
receptions and suppers).
Her community also found a special place with her being recognized as
a life member in: Women’s Institute since 1948 to date, the
Dumfries Fire Auxiliary since 1983 to date, in 1999 by York PC
Association as well as a lot of fun with the Red Hatters. Doris had
a gentle spirit, knitting, piecing quilt blocks and quilting
regularly. Quilting Bees at the Fire Hall, Church or pre-covid
quilting at the Arbuckle’s were all part of her regular
activities over these many years. The last 3 years, she looked
forward to Sundays surfing the TV channels for Billy Graham Crusades
and Gaither Hymns always singing along.
Doris is survived by two sons of Dumfries: Fraser (Judy) and their
children, Tanya (Bliss) Hayward and great grandsons Wyatt, Sydney and
Samuel Hayward; and Trevor (Emily) Ingraham and great grand-daughters
Adalyn and Quinn Ingraham; son Donnie (Rebecca) and their children,
Emily (Danny) Libby and great-grandchildren Gordon, Sylvia, Scarlett
and Fletcher Libby; Peter (Mariah) Ingraham and great-grandchildren
Isabelle and Mason; and Brady Ingraham (Courtney Coffey) and
great-grandchildren Owen and Blair; her youngest sister Hazel Franklin
of Newport, Maine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband,
Myles Ingraham; her sister Dorothy (late Gerald) Estey; sisters-in law
Eileen Ingraham, Bertha (late Bud) Dunham and Berniece (late William)
Hagerman; and brothers-in-law Richard Franklin, Raymond (late Jean)

Route 102, Dumfries, NB on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 12 noon to
3 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3 pm with Rev. Dr. David
Mercer officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Interment

spring.

We want you to know,
We feel that we’ve been blessed.
Because when God decided to give us
A Parent and Grandparent in you
He gave us only the best.
Her family would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to
