Obituary of Delores Juanita Kalnins
Kalnins, Delores Juanita
Passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, with her family by her side,
Delores was born on April 20, 1953 in New Glasgow, N.S. Beloved wife of Raymond for 45 years. Loving mother of Chase and his wife Allison. Dear grandmother of Lyric. Survived by her mother Helen (nee Bond),her sister Donalda Eley and brothers Lawrence, Kevin, Joseph and Graham. She will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Delores worked for the Ministry of Correctional Services, Government of Ontario, for 17 years in various capacities, including administration. She retired in 2013. Prior to this she worked for the private sector for 8 years. During her retirement she travelled extensively with her husband Raymond to popular and remote parts of the world.
She thoroughly enjoyed her life and family- especially her « precious » grandson Lyric. It was often said that Delores cared for others more than for herself.
That Delores died of cancer at the age of 72 did not define her. What was noteworthy was the fact that she successfully beat cancer for 31/2 years thanks to her grit and determination and the brilliant medical support from Joseph Brant Hospital (for whom she fund-raised as well).
A Celebration of Delore’s Life will take place on Monday, May 26, 2025 at George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St, St Catharines at 2 pm. Inurnment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visitation from 11am until the time of service.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Joseph Brant Hospital or Therapy Tails.
Cheers « Rocky »!
