It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher James Brown, who died on May 7th at the Ottawa Heart Institute after a brief but hard-fought battle.
Chris will be deeply missed by his children, Christopher and Mackenzie; his best friend and the mother of his children, Angie; and his loyal four-legged companion, Lexi. Mourning his loss are his mother, Eva Brown; his siblings Dave (Monique), Louise (Phil), Bill (Joanne), and Sandra (Blair); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Marshall Brown.
Born on June 3, 1971, in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Chris was the youngest of five children. From an early age, he found ways to stand out among his siblings, and their shared memories are filled with the joy and chaos of his childhood antics.
Chris had a remarkable sense of humour, which he generously shared with everyone around him. His children, nieces, and nephews were often the good-natured targets of his many pranks and jokes—memories they will cherish forever.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute for their compassion and guidance throughout this difficult time. Special appreciation is also extended to Nick and the team at Walmart in Grand Falls-Windsor for their unwavering support.
In accordance with Chris’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held in both Ontario and Newfoundland at a later date.
