It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Denise Lapensee who was surrounded by her family and reunited with her beloved parents Theodore and Patricia Lapensee on February 23, 2025, at the age of 61. Christine was the proud and loving mother of 2 children, Tarah and Tanner (Jannelle), sister to 3 siblings, Cheryl (Jim) , Michelle (Marshall) and Michael (Christina), grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Caiden, Caysie, Jacoby, Paisley, Laiken and Grayson, auntie to Travis, Ryan (Cassie), Josslyn and Annie and great auntie to Meadow, Leigha, Brooklyn, Theo, Adlee, Autumn and Aubree.
In the latter part of her life, Christine found Ray, a man whom she loved and whose family embraced her with open arms and loved her dearly. Christine is also fondly remembered by many other family and friends who cared for her deeply.
Christine had many health issues and fought a long battle with liver disease. She had the spirit of a warrior and was determined to not go down without a fight. While the disease took her far too soon, she is now at peace in Gods arms and walks with her parents looking down upon everyone she loved to protect them. Christine leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories. Her kind spirit and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered.
The family would like to sincerely thank the healthcare professionals who cared for Christine along with all those who visited with her during her journey. The compassion that was shown to Christine throughout this difficult time was greatly appreciated and truly helped everyone to navigate what has been a very difficult road.
A service will be held in memory of Christine at the Mattawa Christian Life Pentecostal Church in Mattawa at 991 James Street on Thursday March 6th, 2025, at 11am followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Mattawa General Hospital Hospice.
