Cecile Ruby Mills
December 13, 1935 – March 7, 2025
Cecile was born to Harry & Dora (nee Johnson) Menzies at home on a farm near the village of Semans, Saskatchewan. Cecile was the sixth of eight children born to the Menzies family.
Cecile grew up on the family farm, and attended Wakefield School. When she was 16 years old she moved to Regina and began working at the Sherwood Credit Union. During that time Cecile was introduced to Wendell Mills by her sister Dorothy Hagan. Wendell & Cecile were married July 30, 1955.
Cecile came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior at Kedleston Gospel Camp in 1954. In 1956 Wendell and Cecile attended the Full Gospel Bible Institute in Eston, Saskatchewan where they grew in their faith and built many lifelong friendship. Wendell and Cecile were active members of the Regina Apostolic Church. Over the years Cecile was involved in many ministries of the church, including Sunday School, choir and the church library.
Four children were born to Wendell & Cecile – Wes, Kathy, Brad and Grady. Cecile loved being a stay at home mom, where she cared for the needs of her growing family. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening and reading. She was particularly fond of her backyard rose garden. When her children were older Cecile returned to the work force at Sears Canada.
Cecile was predeceased by her parents, Harry & Dora Menzies and 6 of her 8 siblings. She is survived by her husband Wendell, her sisters Lucile Phillips, and Pat Worth. She is also survived by her four children; Wes (Lois) Mills of Calgary, Kathy (Kent) Wilson of Regina, Brad (Diana) Mills of Regina and Grady Mills of Calgary. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren Tyler (Stephanie) Mills, Danny (Christine) Mills, Jaimie (Deanie) Wilson, Ashil (Andrew) Davie, Elya (Josh) Philp, Katie Mills (Doug Cameron) as well as 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for Cecile on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at the Regina Apostolic Church. A family burial will be held at a later date at Kedleston cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Kedleston Gospel Camp in Cecile’s memory, or the charity of your choice.
