It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carole Anne Cotton (née Boug) in her 82nd year on January 22, 2025. Born in London, Ontario, to Ed and Audrey Boug, Carole lived a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Carole will be deeply missed by her siblings, Barb (Ray), Donna (Bob), Diane (Barney), Linda (Gerry), Suzanne, Bob (Barb), Bill (Janice), Brad (Megan), her sister-in-law Martha, and their families. She was predeceased by her brother Gary and brothers-in-law Tom, Lou, and Noel and sisters-in-law Donna(Wayne) and Joan(Carmen). She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law Shirley and Sharon(Winston) and their families.
Carole shared 53 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Frank Cotton, who sadly passed away in 2015. Life was never quite as vibrant after his passing. Carole lovingly tended to Frank’s garden and continued to watch golf in his memory. Together, Carole and Frank shared a love for golf and took great joy in watching their granddaughters excel in basketball. While golf was a hobby, Carole was an avid and skilled curler in her younger years. In later years, she found delight in watching curling and offering spirited, unsolicited advice to the professionals on screen.
Carole will be profoundly missed by her children, Mike (Lucy), Kristen (Chris), and Grant. Her greatest source of pride and happiness was her beloved grandchildren, fondly referred to as “the girls”: Zoe (Joe), Alison (Ian), Isabella, and her cherished grandson, Jay. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them, celebrating their achievements and showering them with unwavering love.
Carole will be remembered for her strong commitment to her principles and her kind heart. Her legacy lives on through her family, who will continue to honour her memory and uphold the values she held dear.
A celebration of Carole’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca/ reflecting Carole’s generous spirit.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Henley Place for the kindness and compassion they showed Carole.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
