With sadness, the family announces that Brian passed away at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital with family by his side on Tuesday morning, December 31, 2024.
Francis Brian Hayes of Arnprior was in his 86th year.
Beloved husband of Gail (nee Mitchell).
Dearly loved and proud Dad of Kevin Hayes, Karen Tourangeau (Stephen) and Luke Hayes (Samantha) and StepDad of Tracey Hayes and Trina Miner.
Cherished “Grumpa” of 5 grandchildren: Ryan Hayes (Tiffany Rodrigues), Brian Miner (Missy), Sean Miner (Maddy Ferritto), Tory Miner (Kyeden Madigan) and David Miner (Nicole Hunter);
5 great-grandchildren: Harper Hayes, Naomi and Zoey Miner, Carter Madigan, Jane Ferrone-Miner and Kylo Hunter.
Dear brother of Helen Ross (late Lyle).
Predeceased by his brother, Phil Hayes (Gayle).
Also survived and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, former colleagues and many friends.
Son of the late Frank and Evelyn (nee Dazé) Hayes.
Brian was a proud Ottawa Valley lad. He enjoyed music, boating and sports (beloved Yankees and Red Wings).
He took a great interest in the History of the Pontiac.
He had an ability to make friends with people of all ages and generations.
He loved socializing and road tours.
He will be remembered for his many practical jokes as well as his raw and unvarnished wit.
Brian’s family will welcome friends during visitation in the comfort of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior
on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
A Service to honour and remember Brian will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel at 1 o’clock.
The service will be webcast live for those unable to attend.

Private family interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior.
Everyone is invited to celebrate Brian’s life at the Arnprior Legion, Branch 174 following the service.
