With sad hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Bev Faulks on January 28, 2025 at Victoria General Hospital, Victoria, BC.
Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Edith Luff, Bev is survived by her husband, Dick Faulks, her sons, Norman (Sandy), Ken (Jill), cousin Bonnie Manning (Van), nephew William Edlund (Sheila).
Bev attended Sunday School at First United Church and then attended the Church of St. John the Divine where she worshipped for 45 years.
After graduating from (the original) Mount Douglas High School, Bev graduated as a Registered Nurse from Victoria’s St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She returned to St. Joseph’s Hospital after two years of study in Montreal and taught paediatric nursing. Her greatest professional love, though, was performing direct patient care. During the years when her children were growing up, Bev worked part-time at Tillicum Lodge, Victoria.
In the Spring of 1961, Bev met Dick and they were married on August 25, 1962.
Bev had the gift of hospitality and was happiest when she had family and friends around her table. She will be remembered as the best wife, mother and friend that one could hope for. She was known for her wonderful sense of humour and youthful spirit, which came through in so many ways.
For 24 years, Church of Our Lord has been Bev’s beloved home church where she enjoyed sharing her gifts of service and friendship. Bev is now with her Lord in heaven. Hers was a life well-lived.
The family would like to thank all doctors and staff at VGH who cared for Bev – in the ER, in N9B Low-Intensity Rehab and in S4A & S4B Medical. A special thank you to RN Samantha, in N9B, who was very kind and responsive to Bev’s needs.
On February 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., a Celebration of Bev’s Life will be held at Church of our Lord, 626 Blanshard Street, Victoria.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of Our Lord.
