With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Bennett Hephner on March 3, 2025 at the age of 73 in Nipigon, On.
Benny is remembered for his love for his family and friends, spending time at his camp at Parmachene, fishing, hunting, watching Nascar and telling stories about his wild youthful days. He was a heavy duty mechanic and could often be found working on things and spending time in his garage with the guys, especially Jimmy D.
Benny will be forever missed by his wife Heather, his kids Amy Hephner, Jesse Hephner, Kirstine Baccar (Kale), Lindsey Wawia (Josh), and Kaila Copp. His grandchildren Mathew Metansinine (Kaylee), Darien Metansinine, Cheyenne Atkinson (TJ), Savana Wawia (Alex), and Brandon Wawia, Kyra, Kiersten, Jacob, Caleb, Erica, Bella, Zachary, Isaac Hardy and Talon Wawia, Leland Lesperance and Jax Childs and also by 23 great grand children. As well as his brothers and sisters, Beverly St. John, Belinda (Dave) Brown, Betsy (Ron) Gast, Brenda (Michel) Fortier, Benita (John) Dohr, Bernice Heimann, Marshall (Sandra) Hephner III, Todd Hephner, and Glen (Rachel) Hephner. Brothers and sisters in-law Lawrence Martin Jr (Yvonne), Marshall Martin, Holly (Greg) Sitch, Susan (Darryl) Kwisses, Joseph “Pit” (Kathy) Martin. Benny is also survived by his many nieces and nephews whom he had so many cherished memories with.
Benny was predeceased by his parents Sheila & Marshall Joseph Hephner Jr, and his grandson Jordon Smith. He was also predeceased by his brothers in law, Bernie Propson Sr and John Heinmann and sister in law Deb Martin
A sacred fire will be lit on Thursday March 6th at the home of Ben and Heather at 5pm.
He will then be resting at his home, 17 Mountain Rd, Lake Helen Reserve, from Friday March 7th until the morning of Monday March 10th. Afterwards, cremation will take place. Visitation times to still be determined.
