Barry Edward Reid of Williamsburg, NB, sadly passed away on March 11, 2025, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Heather Dawn (Bavis) Reid. Born on October 3, 1958, in Stanley, NB, he was the cherished son of the late Velma (Hossack) and Stanley Reid.
Barry leaves behind his children, Lisa Pegg (Brad), Christopher Reid (Shawnalynn), Michael Reid (Natasha). He was a loving grandfather to Martha, Tanner, and Alec. Barry also leaves behind brother, Danny Reid (Cheryl); his loyal dog, Buffy; his father-in-law, Murray Bavis (Kathy); nieces, Lindsay, Krista, and Stacey, and his nephew Jamie. He was predeceased by his brother, Geoff Reid.
Barry enjoyed a career at the Napadogan Veneer Plant. He treasured his Saturdays spent playing Cribbage and working at Hillside Convenience, where his interactions with customers brought him joy. His grandkids held a special place in his heart, as did his adventures on side-by-side rides, and working on his tractor.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 12 to 2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM, led by Pastor Gordon Mowry. Interment will take place later at St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery, Stanley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be shared at www.yorkfh.com.
