In Loving Memory of Barbara Ellen Trocewicz
Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Hyland Crest Long-Term Care in Minden in her 91st year.
Predeceased by her parents Sydney Jordan and Dorothy Southern (nee Hutchinson), husbands Paul Scheller and Henry Trocewicz, brother Walter (Donna) Jordan, and sister-in-law Phyllis (Sidney) Jordan. Barb will be missed by her children Wendy (Jim) Anderson, Martin (Carolyn) Scheller, Peter (Debbie) Trocewicz and Veronica (Geoff) Zinner, granddaughters Natalie (Seth) Anderson and Rachel Anderson, great-granddaughter Cadence McDonough, brother Sidney (Alice) Jordan, sister Marjorie (Ron) Robinson, and many half siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Barb loved her family, her community and her church. Born in Toronto, she was active in the altar guild and choir at St. Crispin’s Scarborough for over 20 years, and skilfully designed and embroidered vestments and altar linens for churches in the north. In 1976, the family moved to Carnarvon, where Barb and Henry owned and operated the Old Mill Cottages until 2016. Barb became active in every aspect of St. Paul’s Minden and its satellite churches, and through her untiring and unwavering faith and outstanding dedication as Lay Pastoral Assistant, she was honoured with the Order of the Diocese of Toronto in 2016. Barb has left her mark on family and friends with her infectious spirit, her spontaneity and sense of fun, her generosity, her love of singing and her beautiful smile.
The family thanks the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at Hyland Crest who have been so kind and caring towards Barb over the past 5-1/2 years, especially during covid.
A Celebration of Life for Barb will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 19 Invergordon Ave., Minden on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 am. A light lunch will follow. A private interment will be held the following day.
