Audrey Ferne Snelgrove
1938-2025
Audrey Ferne Snelgrove, 86, of Riverview and formerly of
Edgett’s Landing went to be with her Lord and
Savior. She passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2025 with
her loving family by her side. Audrey was born in Lower Cape
on August 15th, 1938 the daughter of the late Manning and S. Shirley
(Campbell) Tingley.
She had several jobs over the years. She worked at
Woolworth’s, was a Postmistress for Canada Post in Hopewell
Cape, Custodian for Caledonia Regional High and Village of
Hillsborough offices. Her last job was working with her
husband and being President of his company and she kept the books for
Snelgrove Enterprises. In her spare time she was an avon
representative. The most important job in her life was being a great
wife, mother, and grammie, she fulfilled this job with grace
and strength. She was an active member of the Lower Cape
Baptist Church when she was younger, teaching Sunday School
and helping serve her Saviour in any way she could. Her
Faith in the Lord never wavered. She would read her Bible
everyday and do her devotions. Audrey’s life was a true
testament of her faith. She was a very
compassionate, caring person who would always lend a helping
hand. She was small in stature, but had a huge heart, she
always put others first. She enjoyed playing the piano,
baking, cooking, sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting, you can
see she liked to keep busy. She also enjoyed singing and was
proud to have been a member of the Silver Chords Choir. Her
home was her happy place and as long as she was with her husband and
girls she was content. She took pride in her
beautiful flower beds around the yard. Audrey was
humble and always grateful for her family and the life her and her
husband had made together. Her girls were her life
and then her grandchildren and great grandchildren came along and her
heart was full. She loved them
all.
« You’ll never be forgotten, that simply cannot
be. As long as we are living we’ll carry you with
us. Safely tucked within our hearts, your light will always
shine; A glowing ember never stilled, throughout the end of
time. No matter what the future brings or what may lie
ahead, we know that you will walk with us, along the path we
tread, So rest my angel, be at peace, and let your soul fly free. One
day we’ll join your glorious flight for all
eternity. »
She will be deeply missed by her
daughter, Cheryl Layton (Frank) and girls, Lauren Steeves
(Brandyn) and Whitney Tower (Keith) and precious great grandchildren,
Grace, Charlotte and Lewis; her daughter, Susan MacDonald (Russell)
and their daughter, Samantha MacDonald and her precious great
grandchildren, Lilly, Alexandria and Willow; sister, Olive

and brothers-in-law, Danny Snelgrove of Germantown, Donald Snelgrove
