Antoinette (Toni) Walker Obituary
Antoinette Barbara Walker, fondly known to family and friends as “Toni,” passed away peacefully in her 85th year.
After completing her nursing studies at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York, she dedicated thirty years of compassionate service as a Registered Nurse at Northland Manor. Her colleagues remembered her as dependable, trusting, and sincere—always taking a genuine interest in every person under her care.
In 1963, Toni married her beloved Bob. They shared fifty years of marriage before his passing, building a foundation of laughter, devotion, and mutual respect.
A devoted mother—she nurtured four children, Diana Concessi (Chris), Tim Walker (Bobbi), Laura Cornwall (Ken) and Maureen Knabenschuh (Rich).
Her pride and joy multiplied with each generation: nine grandchildren—Kandy (Joe), Mitchell (Kali), Alex, Corey (Karyn), Kelly (Matt), Matthew (Amanda), Katie (Lucas), Emily (Ethan), and Seth—and nine great-grandchildren who brought her endless delight.
Toni’s warm spirit shone brightest in her favorite pastimes. From baking with her lifelong friends Judy and Mary Jane, to lending her voice to the choir at St. Patrick’s Church, and swimming at Centennial Pool. A proud member of the Midtown Bowling League, she reveled in friendly competition on the lanes. At home, she curated beautiful handmade cards, tinkered at her organ—reminding everyone to “play it by ear”—and spent countless hours at her sewing machine, crafting clothing for her family from their first days through weddings and beyond.
Family truly was her greatest priority. With a heart of pure gold, our “Queen B” showered every child and grandchild with unwavering love and support.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff and nursing team at Northland Pointe in Port Colborne for the love and kindness they showed Toni during her seven years there.
Toni’s laughter, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished by everyone whose lives she touched.
By Toni’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to Northland Pointe would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
