Our family chain has broken now but our love for you stands strong!
Passed peacefully away at his home in Upper Ferry, Codroy Valley, Tony Francis MacIsaac in his 69th year. Predeceased by his parents Alexander (Sandy) and Mary MacIsaac (Nanny Mary). Mourning his deep loss are his brothers: Ronald (Doreen), Gerard (Angie), Billy (Karen), Leo (Elizabeth), his sisters: Sandra (Zane), Sharon (Dennis), Elaine (Ray), Geraldine, Rosemarie (Brian), Margaret (Brian), Madonna (Frank).
24 nieces and nephews and 42 Great nieces and nephews. His special caregiver Rhea Hilliard, and his adorable furry friend Garfield. His dedicated bingo gals throughout the region – Cluda, Winnie, Wavey, Minney, Vivian and Betty. His trusted friends Terri Luedee, Mary MacNeil, John and Angie Devoy, Charles English and Kevin Farrell. Tony will be forever missed by the bingo groups of St. Ann’s Centre, St. Kevin’s Centre and Codroy Valley Fire Hall.
Special thank you to Dr. David Thomas and Chemotherapy Nurse Sherry Vautier from Charles LeGrow Hospital Port aux Basque and Tony’s amazing Community Health Nurse, Amy Taylor, and all those who helped and supported Tony throughout his illness.
Tony was a community man who knew and helped everyone throughout the Codroy Valley region with his handyman services in whatever anyone needed, his late-night taxi services, his many visits to see how people were doing and his gift of talking to people to either ask 50 questions or to simply ask how someone was doing. People were drawn to Tony for his kind, considerate ways and his sometimes fiery personality. If he found a new joke, he shared it far and wide and if you wanted to know something, he would leave no stone unturned until he found the answer. Tony loved his bingo and created a family through the years of bingo pals that lasted a lifetime. While others were planning parties or trips, Tony was planning his bingo games, playing his nevada tickets, collecting his recycling or watching the Price is Right or western movies. Tony was the salt of the earth and gave everyone he met lots of memories for them to cherish a lifetime.
In keeping with Tony’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will take place at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13th at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry, followed by a Celebration of Tony’s Life at St. Ann’s Community Centre. We all know Tony to be a kind, caring, down to earth person whose biggest strength in life was to make people feel welcomed so in lieu of flowers we ask that you share an act of kindness with someone in remembrance of Tony.
We’ll see your smile in every ray of sunshine after the rain,
And hear the echo of your laughter over all the pain,
The world’s a little quieter now, the colours have lost their hue,
The birds are singing softly and our hearts are missing you,
Each time we see a little cloud or a rainbow soaring high,
We’ll think of you and gently wipe a silent tear from our eye.
