2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
The family of the late Anneke Hendrika Tempelman (nee Meurs) announce her passing into glory in her ninety-ninth year on January 5, 2025. Born March 30, 1925 to Jan and Hendrika Meurs in Doetinchem, Netherlands. Mom embarked on her nursing career during the war and vividly remembered Bevrijdingsdag (Liberation Day) in Holland. She then went on to be a travelling nurse on a hospital ship to Indonesia. Prior to her immigration Mom’s travels brought her to many countries including Egypt, Yemen, mountaineering in Austria, Switzerland and many more destinations.

A lifelong servant of Christ and a pillar of faith, she encouraged many in their walk with the Lord. Admired for her talents in sewing, embroidery, knitting, and crochet work. Mom loved to read and is also remembered for her cooking especially when Dad would hunt wild game and Mom would turn it into a delectable meal. She was a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan, enjoyed boxing and would have a good chuckle watching old-school wrestling.
Mom had a good life and was blessed with many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong adherent of the Reformed faith and instilled the Christian virtue of kindness in all of her children (Galatians 5: 22-23).
