Angela passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 in her home in Toronto at the age of 98. Angela was born in Port Huron, Michigan and spent her early years in Grosse Pointe. She graduated from high school and attended university in Michigan. After the death of her father, Angela moved with her mother, Marie Krug and siblings to Toronto where she met her husband, Paul Murphy. They married in 1950 and together raised three children. Many wonderful times were spent in Toronto and Florida.
Angela will be greatly missed by her children, Patrick (Brenda), Peter (Deborah) and her daughter, Carol Skinner (Brian). She was the proud “Nana” of her six grandchildren, Jamie (Kristina), Ryan (Marisa), Paul (Jessica), Kristen (Ryan), Brian (Chris) and Morgan (Sanam) and her thirteen great grandchildren. Angela was predeceased by her husband, Paul by her loving parents, Marie Krug and Harold Wurster and by her brothers, Harold Wurster (Pat deceased), John Wurster (Barbara, deceased) and by her sister, Nanette Hamilton Higgins (Stafford deceased).
Angela loved her family and shared many special occasions whether it was celebrating a birthday, gathering for a holiday or playing golf. She was a beautiful woman, an elegant dresser which was fitting for her election as the “most glamorous” in her graduate year from Grosse Pointe High School. Throughout her life, Angela was kind, a wonderful mother with a keen sense of humour always interested in her family and friends. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge at Rosedale and served on various committees. Angela was happy to volunteer her time to the CNIB, to Sunnybrook Hospital and to events at the Rotary Club. A strong faith and belief sustained her throughout her life.
The family would like to thank Dr. McIsaac, her caregivers (Christine, Jaz and Pat) for the outstanding care. If desired, donations may be made to Sick Children’s Foundation (Brain Tumour Research) in memory of Angela’s niece, Patsy Hamilton. A private family mass in celebration of Angela’s life was held on January 18, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
