BOLTON, Alice (nee Munroe)
January 23, 1929 – August 20, 2025
Alice Bolton, known for her kind, loving and caring nature, left us on August 20, 2025 surrounded in the love of her family. Mom was the heart and soul of our family and will be dearly missed.
Alice was born on January 23, 1929, to Grace and Richard Munroe in Nestorville, Ontario.
She was married to her soulmate, Howard, for 54 years. They raised their four sons, Elgin (Janice), Dennis (Sandy), Darl (Janice), and Harold (Debbie) in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults. Being a Mother and Grandmother was one of the most important parts of Alice’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy.
Grandmother to Andrea (Martin), Rebecca, Alyson (Mark), Rachel (Lars), Kelly, Whitney (Jeff), Jonathan (Laura) and Adam. She is Great Grandmother to Owen, Mary, Kallisto, Elliott, Grace, Finley, Lily and Cilian.
Alice was predeceased by her husband, Howard, their youngest son Harold and his wife Debbie. She was also predeceased by her parents, and eleven of her siblings and spouses. Mary (Weldon), Mabel (Max), Kay (Bill), Millie (Earl), Lyla (Alfred), Jean (Bob), Bernice, Twin girls and brother Richard.
She is survived by her youngest sister Elsie (Vic).
While living in Bruce Mines, Alice was an active member of her community by participating in the Christmas Holy Walk, baking pies for the United Church Initiatives and she was a member of the Women’s Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 211, Bruce Mines.
To remember Alice is to remember her nature … strong willed and unwavering determination but mostly her love for her family and community. Mom cherished every moment she spent with family and friends and would want you to share a story, a memory and a laugh in celebration of her journey home.
Friends and family are invited to say a final goodbye to Alice at Begg’s Funeral Home in Thessalon on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, beginning at 1230 pm with funeral service following at 2pm. Brian Mundell officiating.
