Obituary of Agostino Pacifici
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Agostino Pacifici, on March 14, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of Antonietta (Marrone) Pacifici. Proud and loving father of Paul (Debbie), Gisella (Rich), and Mark (Anna). Devoted Nonno to Victoria (Eugene), Olivia (Logan), Marco (Casandra), Michael, and Gabriel (Chelsea), Talia and proud Bisnonno to Daniella. Cherished son of the late Paolo and Domenica Pacifici and son-in-law of the late Francesco and Sabina Marrone. Dear brother of the late Gabriele (late Silvia), Issaia Palombella (late Tony) and the late Fulvia Salciccioli (late Amleto). Dear brother-in-law of Margherita Marcantonio (late Giovanni), late Albert Marrone (Lea), Domenic, late Nino, Angela Lescard (late Vince and late John), Harry (Laurie) and Tony.
He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and family members in Canada, USA, Italy, Venezuela and Spain.
Born in Gagliano Aterno, Italy, dad lived a life rich in love and purpose. At age 19, he immigrated to Venezuela to build a better life for himself. He took any job possible but also relied on his family trade of butchery to ensure he would achieve his dreams. At age 30, he moved to Canada where he met the love of his life, Antonietta, and soon married. He worked shifts at Dofasco and then would go to work at various butcher shops in Hamilton to ensure that his family was provided for. With Antonietta by his side, they built a beautiful family and created countless memories filled with faith, laughter and love. He will be remembered for his kindness, his wisdom, his sense of humour and most of all his prosciuttos, sausages and famous porchettas. He spent hours upon hours in his cantina making sure everything was curing properly. It was his happy place. He loved to travel, especially to Spanish speaking countries and islands where he would be the life of the party singing, dancing and telling jokes in Spanish. He’d be the “old guy” hanging out with the “young kids” late into the night. Dad’s greatest love though was his family. He was Antonietta’s forever Valentine, buying flowers for no reason. He was proud of everything his children did and always encouraged us to follow our hearts, even when he didn’t agree with our choices. His grandchildren were the most precious jewels. He lovingly pushed them on swings, took them for wagon rides and entertained them with whatever wild idea came to mind. Dad was often described as warm, generous and loving to everyone around him. His presence brought comfort and joy to many and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Special thanks to Dr. Ka La Chan and the amazing and dedicated staff at Ridgeview Long Term Care. You took great care of our dad, often going above and beyond to ensure he was healthy and happy. We are eternally grateful for the friendships we’ve made, many of you becoming like family to us.
Now, after a long and blessed life, Agostino rests in the loving arms of God, reunited with those who have gone before him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19th from 4 to 8 p.m., at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home at 36 Lake Ave Dr, Stoney Creek. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 20th at 10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church at 200 Mount Albion Rd, Hamilton followed by a burial at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery, 681 Mud Street, Stoney Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hamilton Food Share or Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton.
What the caterpillar perceives as the end, to the butterfly it is just the beginning. Fly free Dad.
