DICKHOUT- Julie Ann (nee Kosa) of Port Colborne passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Clyde Oliver Dickhout (1995), loving mother of Ralph (Rob), Dave and Bob, dear grandmother of Evan (Samantha) Saxby and Robin Saxby, great grandmother of Owen and Nora Saxby. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Annie Kosa.
Throughout her life Julie always possessed determination and resilience. From the time she was kicked by a Nazi soldier as a child leaving Hungary in 1936, immigrating to Canada and building a life and a family, she held her head high and had a vigor for life. How many women in 1950 obtained their pilot’s license? Julie did. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Morgan’s Point Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
