Obituary of Patsy Parlee
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Patricia Ann “Patsy” Parlee announce her passing on March 9, 2025 at the Sus Health Centre at the age of 66.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on January 2, 1959; she was the daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Green) Nelson and the wife of the late Stephen Parlee who passed in February.
Patricia was a loving wife, mother, and nanny. Her grandchildren were her world—she loved to spend time with them and spoil them. She especially loved watching them play hockey, rarely missing a game, and she couldn’t wait to brag about them to anyone who would listen.
Aside from hockey, Patricia was always on the go, whether it was trips downtown or visits to St. Martin’s. It was hard to get her to sit still. In the summer, she enjoyed camping with her grandchildren at Yogi Bear, where her favorite things to do were eat ice cream and hang out by the pool.
Patricia loved to talk and could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. A simple five-minute trip to the store often turned into a 20-minute outing. Her warmth, energy, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She will live on in the hearts of her children: Doug Parlee and his wife Vanessa of Millbrook, Natalie Parlee, Amy Parlee and Stephen Parlee all of Picadilly; her grandchildren: Saxon, Brianna, Callie and Blake; her siblings: Ernest Nelson and his wife Myrtle of Apohaqui, Eldon Nelson of Norton, Ralph Nelson and his wife Sharon of Sus and William Nelson and his wife Annalyn of St. Martins; her sisters-in-law, Sandy Nelson of Fredericton and Kathy Gailey of Collina; her brothers-in-law: Ed Parlee and his wife Audrey of Middleton, NS and Albert Parlee of Quispamsis; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Along with her parents and loving husband she is predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Richard Parlee and John Gailey and by her in-laws: Elmer and Velma (McGinnis) Parlee.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will be held on Patsy and Stephen’s wedding anniversary, Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Patsy’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11am with Pastor Daniel Leavitt officiating.
Donations to Living Memorial or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and personal condolences to the family may be made through www.wallacefuneralhome.com.
