Adams, Robert Herbert
« Bob » Jr. – 86, of New Minas, NS, passed
away peacefully on March 2, 2025 with the most beautiful send off
earlier that day with his family. He was a son of the late Robert Sr.
and Edna (Richardson) Adams.
Bob worked at Canadian
Tire, New Minas, in the parts department for over 42 years. He also
served in the West Nova Scotia Regiment for 11 years. His life was
fulfilled with several years of family camping, Blomidon Provincial
Park being his favourite, Keji a close second. Bob cherished his
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing,
model airplanes, and in most recent years, travelling the Atlantic
provinces and beyond. Bob soon traded in his binoculars for a cane,
and most recently a walker, but he was always ready for a road trip!
He was an avid reader, great storyteller, history and geography buff,
and he kept a meticulous journal for 40 plus years. Bob was a fan of
the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bluejays, and Montreal Expos. He also enjoyed
his beer and scotch, right to the end. He loved all animals,
especially his dog, Apollo and his cat, Caramel
« Carmie ». Bob lived life to the fullest and he did
it his way.
Bob will be missed by
his loving wife of 66 years, Rose (Coleman) Adams; sons, Brian (Jenn
Jones), Wolfville, Scott (Kim Smith), Coldbrook; daughters, Tami
(Terry) Whiston, White Rock, Denise (Stephen) Schofield, New Minas;
grandchildren, Jessica (Steve), Cara (Jordan), Sam (Christine),
Mitchell (Kayla), Neil, Bobby (Tara), Joshua (Nicole), Tayler, Keagen,
Mike (Jessica), Megan (Blaine); 23 great grandchildren; loving sister
Doreen Adams- Leopold; several nieces, nephews, and extended family
members.
In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gordie, Lindsay and
Calvin, in infancy; mother-in-law, Helen (Cotters) Coleman;
father-in-law, Leroy Coleman; sisters-in-law, Joan (Coleman) Ward,
Florence (Coldman) Haggerty, Charlotte (Coleman) Schofield and Rita
(Bennett) Adams; brothers-in-law, Victor Leopold, Harry Coleman, Eddie
Coleman and Bud Haggerty.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A
celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Sunday, March 9
from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with a sharing of memories at 3:00
p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
The family would like
to thank all of the amazing and compassionate staff during his recent
stays in the Valley Regional Hospital.
Donations in memory
may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Kings County SPCA.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
