It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Hyacinth Fay Mitchell-Davy, who left this world on February 22, 2025, at the age of 87.
She joins her beloved husbands Charles (1984), Vincent (2018), her parents, Samuel & Esmada, her brothers and sisters Carlton, Winston, Kenton, Derick, John, Orville & Norma, aunts, uncles and friends.
Fay is survived by her dedicated daughters, Erika and Sandra, 4 loving grandchildren, Jahzmine (Mark), Vanessa (Austin), Umojah (Angela), Adonijah (Allyson) and Roi, and 5 vibrant greatgrandchildren, Ava, Ezrah, Charlotte, Maya and James. She displayed her values of kindness, perseverance and faith, ensuring that her legacy of love would continue through them all.
She was born on October 24, 1938, daughter of Samuel & Esmada in Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica. She grew up and was educated in Kingston and later migrated to Leeds, England where she furthered her education in nursing. She graduated from St. James Hospital, moved into midwifery, met her first husband, Charles and moved to Kitchener, Ontario in 1966.
Fay became a Canadian citizen, raised two daughters over the course of her almost 21 years of marriage and continued her career at K-W Hospital on the maternity floor as a Registered Practical Nurse and then moved into the role of a Registered Nurse on the sixth floor. She retired in 1991 after 20+ years of service with K-W Hospital.
In 1990 she married her second husband, Vincent. Fay and Vincent enjoyed the activities of grandchildren, boat cruises, cottaging and beaches, gardening, volunteering and piano playing. She also discovered personal joy in the art of china painting.
Fay was a woman of strength and grace, and her unwavering faith was the foundation of her life. In her younger years, she was a devoted volunteer at her church breakfast club and in various Sunday school and adult programs. Fay served her community with a generous heart, dedicated to sharing God’s love through action.
Her kindness, strength and unwavering love will forever be remembered.
While we grieve her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, resting in the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 10-11 a.m., followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Williamsburg Cemetery and all are welcome back at Erb & Good for a reception in the Fireside Reception Room.
