Ruth Cogswell Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Vivian “Ruth” (Little) Cogswell, which occurred on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born on May 1st, 1941, in Minto, NB, she is the daughter of the late Percy and Freda (Titus) Little. Ruth worked as a laborer at the Sugar Refinery and also as an Educational Assistant with the School System. She was an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church. She loved baking, yard sales, country and western music and will be remembered for her love of animals. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her children Gary Cogswell of Saint John and Cindy Donovan (Robert) of Hampton; step-children Judy Defazio of Saint John, Delbert Cogswell of Fredericton, Paul Cogswell of Woodstock; Susan Cogswell of Saint John; closest grandchildren Alicia, Brian and Jessica (with their children Kaden, Kolton and Damian), Joey, and Tina; Along with her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband Delbert, son Douglas, daughter-in-law Susan, son-in-law Mike and canine companion Sally.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitation being held on Wednesday, February 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 20th from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the Fundy chapel beginning at 2 p.m followed by a reception. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
